The clean up

Today my cousin finally moved in, which means that now I really have to get my stuff in order in my room so I can take the television stand out of it to be able to fit a queen size bed in my room. I set my alarm at 10 this morning because Eric told me that was the time he was coming... turns out he wasn't here until 12:30pm. So I decided to get up then and make myself some food.

lettuce, red peppers, mushrooms and chick peas
In the end I just wanted to have pasta salad, but ended making pasta with marinara Italian sausage sauce, a salad and baked potatoes for my sister, my cousin and I. After eating, I ended up trying to clean my room and needless to say, gave up pretty fast, the more I move things, the more things it looks like I have. Hopefully today I can finish my character preparations for LARP though since tomorrow I have to pull a 9:30 - 9:30 shift at work.

While cleaning I found one of my petticoats so I put it under Annie's dress to see how it looks.

So now I just need to keep working on things. Have a good day every one.

Progress!

Hiiiii!!

So finally, one more exam left before I am done with school until september!
Today Meli and I had the day off, so we decided to have brunch at a dim sum place to then come back to my place to work on cosplays. But first, a picture of dinner!

Oven baked salmon and salad

Recipe for salmon:
-Salmon (of course)
-Lemon
-Pepper
-Butter

Just take tin foil, clean the salmon and pat dry. Cut lemon into thin slices and put it as a bed underneath the salmon on top of the tin foil. Add pepper and then butter (I cut slices out and put them on top). Wrap it all tightly and put in the oven at 450 degrees F. for 25-30 minutes.

Anyway, back to making cosplays, we made/cut the patterns and cut out the pieces to start sewing. However, I did find myself in a predicament unable to decide whether I want gold or yellow trim. All in all, it has been a long day and we are just waiting for a friend to go for a late night snack! Have a good day every one!

Fabric Shopping - Busy times

Morning all~
I am Miki, this blog's new director, nice to meet you all!

Today I woke up at 7 in the morning so that I could get to school for an exam at 9. It was a falafels i mean philosophy exam, so basically roughly 5 pages of whatever you can come up with in two hours. In all honesty I thought I would fall asleep during the exam, but surprisingly I did fairly well and stayed awake long enough to get out of there and on my way to FabricLand.

If you guys are in Ontario, FabricLand is having an amazing sale that lasts until May 5th with everything in store being 40% off or more! So go and check it out sometime. To say the least, I was there and didn't find out about the sale until I got there haha. I was looking up patterns while Meli made her way there. So usually our wednesdays is cosplay making day until day of event, but Meli has the flu and today I feel like I have nothing to do although I have an exam tomorrow...

So anyway, because there is only one more month before LARP, I had to start preparing for that and then Anime North the weekend after it. Meli and I got there at around 11:30ish and we ran around the store like mad people, well mostly myself since Meli is a bit weak from her sickness. By the time we were done with our selection, it was about 1:30ish close to 2.... we were in there for sooooo long, I felt exhausted! Needless to say, we decided to call it a day and go home.

So I got a bit carried away and when I got home instead of eating which I intended to do, I ended up sewing~ So there on the left is a cushion cover for LARP.

Now I am really exhausted, so it's time for a nap. Have a good day all!

Peru here I come!

Two days ago (saturday), my boyfriend Colton came over to Toronto to visit. For the first time he saw my room and apparently I have soooo much clothing that there is no walking space in my room because they take up all the space I have. His words were "and you complain about my room". But honestly, I think his room is a lot messier than mine. I just have a lot of stuff... well maybe a little too much stuff.

After getting ready, because I was too lazy to get ready before he got here, we decided to go out for a late lunch. I was taking him to El Plebeyo, a Peruvian restaurant here in Toronto by St. Clair West and Bathurst, my favourite to say the least. It's a very small cozy family restaurant with absolutely delicious food. This was Colton's very first time having Peruvian food and he enjoyed it so much that if he lived in Toronto, he'd be there at least once a week most likely.

When we just got there, the restaurant was closed, since it was around 4:15 p.m. I had to call in to make sure the restaurant opened on saturday or else I would've had to take him to the backup, El Fogon. I called in and the owner Pepe told me that they opened at 5:00, which means that late lunch was really going to be dinner. So we decided to go to the Starbucks across the street, but since it was filled with people, we walked around a bit to stumble upon a frozen yogurt place. I decided to have dessert before dinner. They had a lemon merengue frozen yogurt that was very yummy with some coconut on top. After our snack, we walked for a bit to wait until the restaurant opened for dinner service. We walked into a Good Will, first time for me, and I saw all these different stuff that just kept reminding me of LARP haha.

We finally ended making it into El Plebeyo, in which I greeted the owner as I usually do when I am in there. We sat down and ordered our food. I made Colton try Inca Kola which is a traditional Peruvian pop. For appetizer we ordered yuca frita (fried cassava) with salsa a la huancaina (cheese sauce), ceviche mixto (mixed seafood cured in lime sauce which is Damien's favourite) and anticucho (grilled cow's heart that in Peru is actually street food).

Ceviche Mixto

And for our main course chupe de mariscos (cream seafood soup with long grain rice which is one of Meli's faves).

Chupe de Mariscos

So Colton might just want to go visit Peru just because of the food. If you are in Toronto or ever here, I recommend this restaurant for sure. It is a bit pricier, but the food is absolutely fabulous! Have a good day everyone!

Assignments are over!!

Finally after many days of being deprived, I have finished all my school assignments and it's just a small wait until final exams. All in all, I am glad this is almost over.
Next thing to do in the list is just to prepare ourselves for convention time! It's an exciting time of the year to be honest. We're trying to get ahead of ourselves trying to work on our cosplays in advance and not leaving it until crunch time!
For those of you who are going to Anime North, let us know! But for now, I think I need a nap~

Have a good day all!

We kind of...

So it has been way too long since this blog has been updated~ In all honesty, I think everybody has been too busy. Myself for example, I am sleep deprived because of final assignments due and final exams coming up. Not only that, the excitement of Anime North and the new season of LARP is starting in May and I am too hyped up for that.

Some news of what we've been doing lately... well Meli and I are playing League of Legends together now. Damien is still... around. And Os, well not so sure where that kid is most of the time.
But Meli and I have decided that we will cosplay again for this Anime North as League of Legend characters! So hopefully if I am still sane enough I will be updating this more often!

Sweet Nightmares all~
